St Margaret's Chapel was built in the 12th Century by David I, St Margaret's youngest son. Today it is the oldest surviving building in Edinburgh and sits on the highest point of castle rock. The chapel was restored in the 19th Century. The windows in St Margaret’s Chapel were made by Douglas Strachan in 1922. These five beautiful windows depict St Margaret herself and other Scottish saints - St Andrew, St Columba, St Ninian and William “Braveheart” Wallace.
