St Michael's Mount is a tidal island in Cornwall. It can be reached from the town of Marazion by a causeway, passable at mid to low tide. Now in the hands of the National Trust, it is possible there may have been a monastry on the site since the 8th century. In the mid 11th century it was given to the Benedictine order of Mont Saint Michel, which is a similar but much bigger tidal island in Normandy.
A wonderful place to visit, this design beautifully captures the classic view of
St Michael's Mount.
