Southwark Cathedral

Stained glass designs available as 'Static Cling' window decorations

Southwark Cathedral
Southwark Cathedral is located on the south banks of the River Thames near to London Bridge. The present Gothic structure dates from between 1220 and 1420 after several fires throughout the years damaged the cathedral, but it is thought that it has been a site for worship since 606 AD. William Shakespeare worshipped at Southwark Cathedral when he lived near The Globe Theatre and his brother Edmund is buried on the church grounds. The Shakespeare Memorial window is one of the highlights of this cathedral, depicting characters from Shakespeare's plays.
