Santa Maria de Montserrat is located in Spain on a mountain named Montserrat. The abbey is still a monastery with over 150 monks in residence, and was founded in the 880 AD. The mountain has been used for religious sites since the romans, as it was the location of a temple dedicated to Venus. Santa Maria de Montserrat is thought by some to be the location of the Holy Grail. It is home to the famous Virgin of Montserrat, a celebrated statue thought to have been made in Jerusalem.
