Porziuncola

Stained glass designs available as 'Static Cling' window decorations

Porziuncola
Porziuncola is a 9th century church enclosed within the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli. The small church is scared place as it is the birthplace of the Franciscan religious movement, founded by Francis of Assisi in 1209. Porziuncola has been intricately decorated over the years by many artists, including a six part mural painted on the apse by Ilario da Viterbo. In this mural is a wonderful depiction of the Annunciation, richly coloured and adorned.
