Florence Cathedral, also known in English as the cathedral of Saint Mary of the Flower, is located in Florence, Italy. The cathedral was built on the site of a 5th century church, and was built in the Gothic style in 1296. Florence Cathedral is home to over forty stained glass windows some dating from the 14th century including the wonderful ‘Coronation of the Virgin’ window designed by Donatello which is situated in the dome.
